Fred W. Jaeger, a self promoting adventurer about to set out on 600 day trip around the world, offers to write articles to be published by McClure's: and notes "My business in Asiatic countries will be simply introducing my invention of fire arms, and the American and Asiatic Trading Company part of it is buying and selling on commission, Asiatic and Oriental cargoes, and will in no way interfere with my newspaper work." He refers to his father as "the inventor of 90 different inventions". An included calling card lists him as "War and Special Correspondent to China and the Far East/Pres't and Gen'l M'g'r American and Asiatic Trading Co./Inventor of the "F.W.J." Fire Arms."
