Mr. Elephant's friends have a birthday party for him which, when he is reminded to show up, gives him some delightful memories. The collection includes one 48-page blueprint dummy, one ink illustration with pasteup and two separations for jacket, two ink illustrations for title page, twenty-two illustrations with one separation, one page correspondence.

Jack Kent wrote and illustrated about 40 children's books during his career and illustrated nearly 20 by other authors. He began his career as a free-lance commercial artist, created a comic strip "King Aroo" which was syndicated from 1950 to 1965.
