Lured into the Enchanted Forest through the wiles of her wicked stepmother, Princess Goldenhair is found by Bonnie Cat and Gentle Doe and kept in their castle with the assurance that one day she will return home. Adapted and retold from a story by La Comtesse de Ségur. Illustrations from old prints by Gustave Doré and others. The collection includes two holographs (one with partial typescript), corrected typescripts (one in carbon), a page proof, jacket proof, correspondence, reviews notes and notes in a notebook.

Beatrice Schenk de Regniers was born in Lafayette, Indiana on August 16, 1914, and died March 1, 2000. She studied social work administration at the U of Chicago and earned her M.Ed in 1941 from Winnetka Graduate Teacher's College. After doing social work for several years she was sent to the Sinai Peninsula to a Yugoslav refugee camp, constructing a kindergarten and teaching American folk dances to the children.
