The crucifer of blood : programs and ephemera, 1978-1993.

Programs, handbills, reviews, and advertising material for professional and amateur productions of The crucifer of blood by Paul Giovanni. The play was initially produced at the Studio Arena Theatre in Buffalo, NY, and then ran on Broadway with the same cast and artistic staff at the Helen Hayes Theatre from Sept. 1978-April 1979. This production was directed by playwright Giovanni, and starred Paxton Whitehead as Sherlock Holmes, and also featured Glenn Close in the cast. A 1980 Los Angeles production featured Charlton Heston as Holmes, and Jeremy Brett as Watson. Other materials in the collection are from regional high school, amateur, and professional productions of the play in the U.S. and Great Britain.
