This extensive collection includes clippings from 1908 through the 1970s, annual reports and committee reports, administrative and other correspondence, materials related to Orchestra Hall, the Northrop Auditorium shell and other halls, financial statements and fund-raising efforts, information about employees, guest artists and rehearsals, records of performances, tour information, programs, correspondence with the Metropolitan Opera and records of other cooperative efforts, records of education and awards,documentation of audience and community relations, and photographs of individuals, events and activities, and various orchestra auditoriums. In addition, the collection includes color posters and other advertising materials.
