Papers, 1942-1962 (bulk 1944-1957).

The collection contains production material for eleven titles published between 1944 and 1957. Production materials include illustrations, some signed for Dr.Irvin Kerlan, done in tempera and watercolor, studies done in tempera, ink, watercolor, and ink and watercolor, a proof, and dummies. There is also a watercolor illustration for a textbook that is not verified as published and some miscellaneous artwork done in a variety of media [dated as early as 1942] with one item signed for Dr. Irvin Kerlan and two with notes by Leo Politi to Dr. Kerlan.
