Jon the unlucky : production material.

Material for "Suppose, suppose," explanation of the writing of "Jon the unlucky," for a version that appeared in Discoveries, a reader published by Scott Foresman. Material includes: holograph, typescript, and correspondence. Jon, a young Danish orphan, is taken to a hidden valley in Greenland, where all outsiders are condemned to death, and he must prove that he can be invaluable to the community to make the villagers spare him.

Born in Buffalo, New York in 1893, she married writer Henry Beston. She graduated from Vassar in 1915 and Columbia with an M.A. in 1916. Belongs to Phi Beta Kappa, won a Newbery Medal in 1931.
