Big Bear, spare that tree : production material, 1980.

Big Bear wants to chop down his tree but Blue Jay is frantic because her eggs are due to hatch in a nest in that very tree. The collection comprises one 56-page pencil dummy with proof text pasted in, nine ink studies, one ink-crayon-pencil study, two ink-feltpen-crayon studies, one ink illustration with three separations for cover, one felt pen illustration with one separation for title page, one ink illustration with one separation for dedication page and verso, twenty-five illustrations with one separation each, one felt pen illustration with one separation.

Jack Kent wrote and illustrated about 40 children's books during his career and illustrated nearly 20 by other authors. He began his career as a free-lance commercial artist, created a comic strip "King Aroo" which was syndicated from 1950 to 1965.
