The snow party : production material, 1959.

On a snowy, windy night at a Dakota farm, a lonely woman wishes for company, music, and a party--and suddenly all her wishes start to come true. The story was inspired by a 1957 Life Magazine report. The collection comprised a holograph, corrected typescripts (one in carbon, a corrected galley proof, page proofs (some in photocopy), correspondence, notes and layout notes, clippings.

Beatrice Schenk de Regniers was born in Lafayette, Indiana on August 16, 1914, and died March 1, 2000. She studied social work administration at the U of Chicago and earned her M.Ed in 1941 from Winnetka Graduate Teacher's College. After doing social work for several years she was sent to the Sinai Peninsula to a Yugoslav refugee camp, constructing a kindergarten and teaching American folk dances to the children. Reiner Zimnik was born in the East German town of Beuthen in Silesia in 1930. He attended the Academy of Art in Munich and worked in a carpentry shop and as an author and illustrator of books for children.
