Barlow-Olmstead family papers, 1782-1958; bulk, 1850-1900.

This collection contains documents relating to Aaron and Daniel Barlow, as well as various descendants including members of the Olmstead (Olmsted) family of Ballston Spa, Saratoga County, New York. It includes manuscript letters, genealogies, and financial documents, all compiled in an effort to trace the ancestry and descendants of American author and statesman, Joel Barlow, 1754-1812. It appears that most of the genealogical material in the collection was accumulated by Lemuel Gregory Olmstead and Aaron Barlow Olmstead, who were great nephews of Joel Barlow.
