Letter, 1808 November 12, Litchfield, [Connecticut] to Thomas Jefferson, Washington [D.C.].

On July 20 and Oct. 17, 1807, wrote to Hon. A. Gallatin respecting his removal from office of land commissioner in western district of territory of Orleans; enclosed several letters; Gallatin had recommended his appointment; wishes to know why he was removed from office of land commissioner at Opelousas; had served satisfactorily in Mississippi Territory.
