Mr. Briesler, President Adams's steward, asked him to have mangle made for callendering of linen; did not complete it before family left city; has applied to Mr. Claxton who said he had nothing to do with it; takes liberty of sending sketch of apparatus to Jefferson and will instruct servants as to its use of he wishes to have it.
