Thanks him for letter of 22nd June last and $50 placed in hands of Major Duval for self; has been ill; son prevented from coming for him by considerable business as stone mason in Nashville; experienced driver will take him, with two good horses and light stage wagon, for 60 pounds; friends think it not unreasonable but self has not the money; [incomplete].
