Saw him in Philadelphia two years ago - is visiting Europe and may go as far as Petersburg and Constantinople - from Major [Thomas] Pinckney, minister to London, he expects letters to men in the diplomatic line - will appreciate any that Jefferson may write for him - may be sent to Pinckney or to Edward Rutledge in South Carolina.
