Smith again warns Jefferson that denominational rivalries threaten the latter's plan for education in Virginia, especially the choice of the College of William & Mary as a state school; he proposes a unified religion that would overcome such obstacles, but if that is prohibitive, recommends that an interdenominational group of men meet annually to elect the College's Board of Visitors.
