Samuel Gompers letters, 1893 and 1933.

On American Federation of Labor letterhead, Samuel Gompers writes to A.A. Hill, Managing Editor, American Press Association, 8 March 1893, enclosing a receipt [not extant] for $25 and requests galley proofs for the article on immigration; to William Seaver Woods, Editor, The Literary Digest, 28 Dec. 1920 (with envelope), praising the Literary Digest. The four photographs consist of a portrait of Gompers as an adult; the official program dedication of the Samuel Gompers Monument in Washington, D.C., 7 Oct. 1933, with a photo of Gompers on the cover; a photo of the monument with Gompers standing between a boy and a girl with his arms around their shoulders; and a studio photo of a boy in short pants, standing next to a goldfish bowl, 1939.
