The handwritten volume contains nineteen articles and transcriptions of eight plates outlining the guidelines of Gurney's shorthand, plus Genesis chapter one verse 22-33 and the Apostle's Creed written in shorthand (28 p.). Also contains ten pages of accounts, 1825-1826, listing debits for a horse and chaise, feed, and supplies, and credits of payments from several men including John Thomson, Joseph Noyes, Enoch Peirce, Thomas Witham, Thomas Burnham, Enoch Huse, Caleb Huse, Jacob Stickney, and David Pettengill. Many of these family names are from New England.
