DePaul zine collection 1993-

In 1993 the Underground Press Conference was held at DePaul University, cosponsored by a local underground publisher, Batya Goldman, and DePaul English faculty member Ted Anton. The DePaul Zine Collection grew out of the collecting efforts during that conference. The Chicago and Great Lakes Underground Press Collection contains zines published primarily within the Midwest, and continues to accept submissions falling under this geographical region. Additional collections came to DePaul as donations from individual zine collectors and publishers. The contents of these collections cover a wide ranges of subjects, some of which are consistent from one collection to another. Special Collections & Archives also maintains a small collection of published books to provide access to general information about zines and related topics.
