Letter to Mrs. Rhoda Hill, 24 November 1863.

Short two-page letter from Confederate soldier J.S. Hill in a military prison in Louisville, Kentucky to his mother, Rhoda Hill, of Pleasureville, Henry County, Kentucky. Hill thanks his mother for sending the "spar ribbs and sausage" and other provisions. He writes that he has "no nuse" to report but hopes to be released soon. Hill also mentions friends and acquaintances in Pleasureville such as: Dr. Underwood, Mr. White, and Billy Lindsey.
