Geneva Wallace grew up on a small farm in the Land Between the Lakes region of Kentucky. She attended a one room school at Woodson Chapel and graduated Cadiz High School in 1926. After graduation, she attended Murray State College and two years later received a certificate to teach high school. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Murray State College in 1932.
