Bernard Malamud letters, phonograph record, and sketch, 1963-1989.

The collection consists of five items, including: sound recording of Malamud reading from The Magic Barrel story, "The Mourners," issued as Calliope 13, c1963; letter to Dear Roger, 24 Sept. 1968, including corrections to be made in future printings of The Assistant; letter to Mr. Bracker, 6 Oct. 1969, suggesting the effect of Chagall on his work was overdone; sketch labelled Rembrandt's hat, signed by Malamud, depicting an odd hat; also, photocopy of letter from Malamud's widow, Ann, to Dan Walden, 12 March 1989, thanking him for the memorial article on Malamud.
