Letter to Chauncey Depew, 1898 May 12.

Discusses in detail the polling of prominent citizens as to their favorite historical character in American history and requests verification that both Depew and WIlliam K. Vanderbilt selected Abraham Lincoln. A handwritten note of reply in the lower left corner verifies that Depew chose Lincoln but questions whether anyone saw Vanderbilt.
