Photographs of businessman, inventor, and aviation pioneer Godfrey Lowell Cabot of Boston, Mass. The collection contains photographs of early aircraft and equipment, ca. 1910-1945; Cabot's Aero Pickup devices, ca. 1917-1931; and early experiments with flight, including photographs of the Wright brothers' glider experiments at Kill Devil Hills in North Carolina in Oct. 1903, taken by engineer Octave Chanute. There are also portraits of Godfrey Lowell Cabot, various aviation and business associates, and members of the Cabot family; views of places in the United States and Europe of importance to early aviation, including aerial photography; and photographs relating to Cabot's involvement with his business, Godfrey L. Cabot, Inc., and the Maria Moors Cabot Foundation, among other subjects. Most of the other photographers are unidentified. Many of the photographs in this collection are copy photographs.

The brothers were in the printing and bicycle business in Dayton before they became interested in solving the problems of powered flight.
