Handbook/Catalogue, Lutheran Deaconess Motherhouse and Training School 1895; 1903-1947

This series comprises editions of the information handbook published for the Lutheran Deaconess Motherhouse and Training School, Baltimore, Maryland (BMD). Editions published from 1903-1946 are included in this series. In addition to these handbooks, there is also an 1895 handbook for the Board of Deaconess Work (BDW), but it was not considered the official handbook for the motherhouse, which was first published in 1903. These handbooks are printed material with soft covers. Later editions include published photographs as well as printed text. This series includes consecutive editions that run through the eighteenth edition published for 1939-1940. The last two editions in this series are for the school years of 1942-1943/1943-1944 and 1946-1947. In box 2 is a bound volume of handbooks that are duplicates for the copies that comprises this series. The one exception is that the seventh edition is only found in the bound volume. It is unknown if BMD published handbooks or catalogues for 1940-1941, 1941-1942, 1944-1945, and 1945-1946. If so, those copies are missing from this series. Later editions of the training school catalog are located in ULCA 61/6/1, Program Files, 1865-1965. Records are arranged chronologically.
