Records, 1932-1981.

The collection contains the administrative records and casework files of the Fort Wayne Jewish Federation.The administrative records contain bound financial statements, meeting minutes, correspondence, and files on Fort Wayne Jewish organizations. The casework includes records pertaining to the Federation's mission of helping Jews in and beyond Northern Indiana. Most of the cases during and immediately after World War II involved assistance to European Jewish refugees. In later years the bulk of casework was aid to Jewish transients for travel expenses. Other community services include placement in nursing homes or foster care, help with medical care, and mediation of inter-personal disputes.
