The collection contains one letter to Dear Neal [John Neal of Portland, Maine], 10 Apr. 1839, planning to "launch" their monthly magazine and asking for the promised article; a copy of the first page of the newspaper New-England galaxy, July 7, 1826, containing a long poem, The rest of the nations, "pronounced before the Peace Society of Maine, on the evening of the anniversary, May 10, 1826."; a newspaper clipping of the poem Prologue, "written for the opening of the New-York Theatre," with handwritten date "Oct. 27 - 1826"; and a detached poem titled "Woman," from The literary emporium, July 1, 1845, p. 199-201.
