Diary of an unidentified, probably American, doctor, dated 19 Dec. 1937-15 Jan. 1938, concerning what he witnessed after the Japanese Army captured Nanking, with entries about sexual assault, the killing of non-military Chinese citizens, the reaction of the American Embassy, and other events. Christian's introduction gives the provenance of the original manuscript.
