Undated copy of a letter written in an unidentified hand, sent from the tents of Lower Jassam (Poland) to the vice chancellor of the King [Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki]. Transcription recounts the march of the Polish army against the Ottoman-held towns of Jassam (Moldavia) and Kamieniec Podolski, as well as the garrison of Chocim, which was captured in 1673 by the future King Jan Sobieski.

Archibald Cary Coolidge (1866-1928) was an American educator. He was a Professor of History at Harvard College and the first Director of the Harvard University Library from 1910 until his death.
