Stewart-Sparke family papers, 1802-1893.

Collection contains the following items: first and second editions (26 July 1802, 3 August 1802) of the Mississippi Herald published in Natchez, Miss. by Andrew Marschalk; 50 voucher notes issued by the Southern Railroad Company (1861-1862) in one, two, three, four, and five dollar denominations; a ribbon dated 31 May 1893 celebrating the re-interment of Jefferson Davis' remains at the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Va. accompanied by two small Confederate flags; two letters dated 12 May 1890 and 22 December 1891 from W.H. Sparke to his grandson Miller S. Hastings of Covington, Kentucy regarding sending him letters of "Mr. Davis" (presumably Jefferson Davis), and a copy of a funeral oration delivered at the Church of the Messiah, Louisville, Ky., by Rev. Heywood on 31 December 1877 in memory of William Herbert Danforth.
