Werner Jaeger papers, circa 1898-1970.

circa 1898-1970

The Jaeger papers can roughly be divided into his German period (ca. 1900 to the 1930s) and his Harvard years (1939-1961). Included are correspondence, lectures, manuscripts, notebooks, offprints, and photostats. The correspondence in German from the earlier period tends to be more personal. The papers contain some offprints and recycled stationary of his journals ("Gnomon" and "Die Antike"). The photostats are mainly the Gregory manuscripts but also Aristotle's Metaphysics.
