James Parton papers, 1914-1986.

Consists of personal and family papers together with office files from Parton's work with various companies and organizations, notably American Heritage Publishing Company. All phases of Parton's career are documented--his school days, his work as staff writer and bureau chief for Time, his service in World War II as aide-de-camp to Lt. Gen. Ira Eaker, and his work as president of the Britannica Educational Corp. after leaving American Heritage. Includes correspondence, writings, speeches, photographs and memorabilia.
