Drawings and proofs for the Harper & Brothers' 1908 edition of The hole book. Includes ink and gouache drawings for 22 of the 25 illustrations; mounted on board. Not present are the drawings for illustration 16 at p. 33 (image of the band), illustration 22 at p. 45 (image of Felix Fenno and his kite), and illustration 23 at p. 47 (image of the grocer boy and the bulldog). Also includes a proof of alternate cover design, which is not the cover finally adopted, a trial proof of the title page, in blue rather than the final color, orange, and a proof of plate for p. 11 (image of artist and painting).
