Oral history interview : Ian Dunbar, Reed College, class of 1958 / interviewed by Scott Benowitz, 1996, on January 20, 2004.

Discussion of Dunbar's year as an exchange student at Reed from the University of Keele, England, in 1957-1958. The interview covers his family, childhood, and memories of the Blitz in London, coming to Reed, the Pacific Northwest, the economics department, Arthur Leigh and Carl Stevens. He also discusses Lloyd Reynolds, Maure Goldschmidt, John and Virginia Hancock, John Pock, Frank Munk, student Richard Stevenson, and, the exchange program, his job in the commons with Mary McCabe, the old Foster-Scholz dorm, politics on campus, the composition of the student body, concerts, Portland housing, and American differences. He attended the London School of Economics and became a civil servant and director in the British Prison Service.
