Letter to Jefferson Davis, 1864 Nov. 21

Letter regarding Collins' invention of a "rapping telegraph" system that he hopes the Confederate military will adopt, since the method would provide for the secrecy of messages transmitted, in contrast to Morse's method. Collins offers to visit Richmond in order to finalize an agreement with either Davis or the patent office. He also provides multiple references who will attest to his character.
