Ogden Kilbourn account books, 1823-1852.

Daybook and ledger kept by Ogden Kilbourn of Hartford, Connecticut. Kilbourn was a hardware merchant and importer on Main Street in Hartford. The business was started by his father, Joseph Kilbourn, and continued by his nephew, Gurdon Saltonstall Whiting. Entries in the daybook generally list the materials purchased, including coffin trimmings, coffee mills, and coal. The volume also contains their account with Hartford's Phoenix Bank. Though the dates overlap, the entries do not appear to correspond between the daybook and ledger.
