Bond signed, 1768 May 17.

Binding Edward Gibbon and his father Edward Gibbon, Sr. (and their heirs, executors and administrators) to Sir Francis Gosling, Knight and Alderman of the City of London, Robert Gosling Esq. of Lincoln's Inn Fields, and George Clive Esq. of Bedford Row for the sum of £3,200. The loan payments are to be due on 15 February 1769, with interest at the rate of £4 and 10 shillings per £100. Signatures of "Edward Gi[bbon]" and "Edward Gibbon [Junior]" have been partially torn away. Witnessed by J.W. Smith and William Jackson.
