E.L. O'Connor collection, 1953-1954, 1957, 1960-1962.

The collection deals with the interests of E.L. O'Connor. The majority of printed works in series I involve the Bulletin Youngstown edition, a monthly magazine from Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company that deals with steel industry articles, Company events such as retirements and promotions as well as employee family events i.e. marriages, births, birthdays, obituaries, graduations, enlistments in the service and seasonal recipes. Other miscellaneous printed works include steel magazines focusing on research, economic trends, production, industrial relations and operations management. Series II, Annual reports contains two financial reports of the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company from the years 1953 and 1957. Series III, Union papers involves a settlement proposal addressed to David J. McDonald, President of the United Steelworkers of America, a booklet of the agreement between The Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company, Youngstown Metal Products Company and the United Steelworkers of America Production and Maintenance Employees. The last part of Series III involves papers belonging to E.L. O'Connor which describe Union procedures i.e. vacation days, grievances, and incentives. Gaps for which there are no items exist for the years 1955-1956 and 1958-1959. The collection may offer insight into Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company when it was locally owned and operated and the steel industry of the late 1950s and early 1960s.
