Early homes of Burlington County, New Jersey : photograph albums, 1932-[1939] / Photographed by N. R. Ewan.

Two albums containing a total of 110 mounted photographs. The images depict representative houses and an occasional outbuilding (but not public buildings or houses of worship) built before 1800 in (almost exclusively) northern Burlington County. All images are 5 x 7 black-and-white prints and most depict brick structures, usually with later alterations. The images are numbered and are accompanied by typed descriptive text on separate sheets of paper which are bound in immediately preceding each photograph. An unsigned introduction is included as an additional leaf of text inserted at the front of volume one. The introduction states that the negatives from which the prints were made were exposed in 1932 and 1933 and were donated to the Library of Congress in 1939. Included in a pocket at the end of volume two is a printed map of Burlington County, possibly dating from 1938, which has been annotated in red ink to show the approximate locations of the structures depicted in the photographs.
