George A. Wilson speeches, 1941-1942, 1948

Transcripts from radio speeches delivered by Wilson during his tenure as governor, many of which are patriotic messages referencing wartime concerns. Phonograph recordings in the collection include: Wilson's inaugural address (January 16, 1942); a radio endorsement by Des Moines legislator Ed R. Brown for Wilson's senatorial campaign (May 1942); Governor Wilson's radio spot promoting the purchase of war bonds (July 1, 1942); and a senatorial campaign message delivered by Wilson at Davenport, Iowa and carried over KSST radio (Sept. 20, 1948). Recordings have been transferred to a compact disc housed with the documents.
