Remarking that he was in the Athenaeum from 3 to 6:30 the previous day and is sorry to have missed him; indicating that he has "not yet heard from [Henry] Fawcett - perhaps his letters are not forwarded to him in the country"; regarding a piece written on "the injury which the University of Paris has done to France," could he please send an extract on "the effects of [mere?] central examination & administration on the education of a country"--He intends to write a piece and will send a draft.
