Livingston family papers, 1787-1893.

Sixty-four letters chiefly written to James Duane Livingston, 1787-1893, and 22 documents, 1785-1847. The letters relate to the Livingston family affairs, principally matters concerning the family estate "Livingston Manor," and they are most numerous for the period 1787 to 1840. There are, however, two informative letters dated 1858 and 1860 from members of the family situated in San Francisco. The documents consist of wills, surveys, checks, notes, accounts, and similar papers. Also, a quantity of miscellaneous clippings, mementos, and the like.
