Leonard Rowland Pruette Papers, 1887-1947

His diaries contain information on his pastorates, churches organized; and marriages and funerals conducted. Subjects include the visit of President William Howard Taft to Charlotte, North Carolina. (1909); the Seventy-five Million Dollar campaign of the Southern Baptist Convention (1919-24); the endowment campaign of Wake Forest College; and the debate between Wake Forest College and Baylor University in 1913. Individuals mentioned include Daniel Monroe Austin (1848-1925); Amzi Clarence Dixon (1854-1925); Thomas Henderson Pritchard (1832-96); William Alonzo Smith (1866-1923); W.H.
