Dr. G. W. Paschal, Jr. was graduated from Wake Forest College in 1927. He received his BS in 1929 and his MD in 1931; an honorary DS was presented to him in 1962. After service in WWII, he became a surgeon in Raleigh, North Carolina A benefactor of Wake Forest College/University, he served on its Board of Trustees.
