Residents of Cheshire, Conn.; Titus Ives (1747-1777) and Steven Ives (1749-1830) were sons of Joseph Ives, Jr., who was son of Deacon Joseph Ives, one of the first settlers of Cheshire and one of the first deacons of the First Congregational Church. Steven was a successful farmer and at his death left a large landed estate. Titus served as a soldier in the Revolutionary War and died at the Battle of Harlem Heights in 1777. His son, Titus Ives (1770-1815) married his cousin Mary Ives (1774-1854) ...
