Very detailed letter describes extensive looting, burning, and deaths in north China, which began in Beijing when some troops mutinied because they were not paid. Few foreigners have become involved, but many students at the writer's college and other colleges have left. Yuan to become Provisional President of the Republic of China. Some American soldiers are in China. Also, six photos of Chinese and one, presumably, of the writer's wife, Constance.
