Dorothy Murray Forbes papers, 1896-1945; bulk: 1915-1945.

Papers of philanthropist Dorothy Murray Forbes, 1915-45, include correspondence from friends and family, a copy of her will, and clippings pertaining to an airplane flight with the "flying parson" in 1919. Correspondence includes letters to and from her brother Allan Forbes and her sister Elizabeth Forbes Lyman pertaining to the distribution of their father James Murray Forbes' estate and later Dorothy's estate. Also includes letters from friends and family thanking her for flowers and gifts she sent, a pocket music notebook she kept in 1896, and genealogical materials pertaining to the Forbes, Bowditch, and Ingersoll families.
