Thanking him firstly for the research he has done; describing two works he has: "Mérimée et ses amis" by Augustin Filon, to which is somehow connected a Madame [Przedziecka?], and "Lettres à une autre inconnue," by Blaze de Bury; further discussing the preface of the second work and certain contradictory details involving Fontainebleau and Biarritz therein; mentioning his wife's mother, who has been placed in a mental home for senility.
