This series comprises records related to foreign distribution efforts for the feature film Martin Luther undertaken by Lutheran Church Productions, Inc. (LCP), the film's production and distribution company, and a predecessor of Lutheran Film Associates. The records are from 1953-1968, but the bulk date from 1954-1959. Record types include handwritten and typewritten business correspondence, distribution agreements, some publicity materials such as brochures, press releases and news articles, and meeting minutes. The majority of records are business correspondence. In addition to subject matter related to foreign distribution, there are two folders of correspondence related to foreign translations of the film and one folder pertaining to Chinese subtitles. A wide variety of countries are represented and this series offers a valuable picture of efforts to have the film shown in as many different countries as possible. All parts of the globe are represented: Asia, South America, Africa, and Europe, including countries behind the Iron Curtain.
