Regarding three small sketches, a tailpiece and an opening letter for the article, all of which he has sent by courier; suggesting that if he finds his drawings too forced and a bit heavy, as was suggested by his letter, he should be sure to treat them only as rough sketches; presenting titles for eight drawings he had previously sent (with rough sketches of each) and asking his opinion; mentioning that he plans to visit his father in Nemours before leaving for Italy; sending his best wishes to Mrs. Johnson and their children, Owen and Agnes.
