World War II scrapbook, 1943.

The collection consists of a scrapbook kept by soldier Elmer H. Hoode while at Dutch Harbor during World War II. The collection consists of the contents of the scrapbook, including the original cover and first three pages, fourteen black and white photographic prints, two menus, a copy of Christmas carol lyrics, and some photograph clippings. The photographs include: 9 Alaska tourist prints primarily of people in Unalaska, a signed portrait of actress Olivia De Havilland, three prints of Dutch Harbor from Iliuliak Bay, and a picture of sea lions on a beach. The menus are for the Naval Operating Base at Dutch Harbor, for their Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners in 1943.
